The Government of Virgin Islands is continuing its programme of upgrading the Territory’s roads and has resumed works on the Fish Bay Road project.

A team of officials from the Ministry of Transportation, Works and Utilities, visited the island of Jost Van Dyke on Friday, December 3 to see the infrastructural works and utilities to be addressed, as well as ongoing works near completion, to include the Great Harbour back road.

Persons with vehicles and heavy equipment situated at the site of the Economic Zone in Huntum’s Ghut are being advised to have them removed by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, December 10.

The public is notified that Windy Hill Road in the vicinity of Sage Mountain junction will be closed on Wednesday, November 17 from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

The public is notified that a portion of Nottingham Estate, Long Look will be partially closed on Wednesday, June 30 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Acting Director of the Public Works Department, Mr. Jeremy Hodge has said that the Public Works Department (PWD) is engaged in heightened road maintenance activities in preparation for the hurricane season and to ensure continued public safety.

Motorists and residents are notified that the placement of speed bumps will commence on Wednesday, May 19 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the following areas.

The public is notified that the section of Waterfront Drive between the Dr. D. Orlando Smith Hospital and McNamara Road will be closed on Tuesday, May 11 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

The public is notified that the Trellis Bay Jetty and Barge parking area will be closed to the public on Saturday, March 27 from 7:00 a.m. to Monday, March 29 at 7:00 a.m.
