Minister for Transportation, Works and Utilities Honourable Kye Rymer recently visited the BVI Electricity Corporation (BVIEC) Power Plant at Pockwood Pond.

His Excellency the Governor Mr. Augustus Jaspert has appointed Mr. David Archer, Jr., as Deputy to Governor effective April 23 to April 26, and from April 29 to May 2 while he is on personal leave in the Territory.

The public is notified that the offices of the Department of Motor Vehicles’ (DMV) on Virgin Gorda will be closed on Thursday, April 18.  Services will resume on Tuesday, April 23 at 9:00 a.m.

His Excellency the Governor Augustus J. U. Jaspert is away from the Territory until Monday, April 15. 

Deputy Premier and Minister for Education and Culture, Dr. the Honourable Natalio Wheatley is acting Premier.

Deputy Governor, Mr. David D. Archer Jr. has said that through the engagement of the public and the private sector, the Government of the Virgin Islands will develop improved services that will contribute to a vibrant and sustainable economy.

Mr. Speaker, I move that the Bill shortly entitled the Appropriation Act, 2019 be read a second time and, in so doing, I invite this Honourable House to extend its customary indulgence in permitting me to deliver the 2019 Budget Address.

The preliminary designs for the restoration of the Virgin Gorda Administration Complex, Vanterpool and Flax buildings have been presented to Government officials.

The Government of the Virgin Islands is inviting the public to attend a community meeting on Tuesday, April 2 to discuss the redevelopment of the West End Ferry Terminal.

The public is notified that Government pensions will not be paid on March 27 as scheduled due to technical difficulties.
