The British Virgin Islands’ response to COVID-19 has been presented by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) as a model for the Eastern Caribbean.

A delegation of officials from the Government of the Virgin Islands was present at the Terrence B. Lettsome International Airport today, March 7 to receive 2000 doses of AstraZeneca vaccines for immediate distribution from the Government of Dominica.

De-risking continues to place excessive burdens on the region’s financial infrastructure and impedes our countries’ and territories’ abilities to effectively engage in global business and have sustainable economic growth. 

Premier and Minister of Finance, Honourable Andrew A. Fahie has pledged his full support to incoming Chairman of the OECS Authority, Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda the Honourable Gaston Browne.

The Virgin Islands has led the way regionally in implementation of the five-year OECS iLAND Resilience Project and was featured highly at the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) iLAND Resilience Project Closure Conference held in Saint Lucia from April 25 to 26.

The Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) is continuing capacity building for the on-going Country Assessment of Living Conditions (CALC) in the British Virgin Islands.
