On September 15, the Minister for Communications and Works, Honourable Mark Vanterpool and officials of the British Virgin Islands Electricity Corporation welcomed the press for a tour of the Phase V Power Development at the Pockwood Pond power station.

The three new Wartsila generators have been successfully transported to the Pockwood Pond Power Station.

The public is notified that the James Walter Francis Drive, Waterfront Drive, and Sir Francis Drake Highway between the BVI Ports Authority in Port Purcell and BVIEC Power Station in Pockwood Pond will also be closed Thursday, September 1 from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. This is to facilitate the transport of the remaining parts for the Wartsila generators.

To facilitate this exercise, the James Walter Francis Drive, Waterfront Drive, and Sir Francis Drake Highway between the BVI Ports Authority in Port Purcell and BVIEC Power Station in Pockwood Pond will be closed to vehicular traffic.

Expansion works on Phase V Power Development Programme at the Pockwood Pond Power Station is said to be progressing as scheduled.

The public is notified that the James Walter Francis Drive, Waterfront Drive, and Sir Francis Drake Highway between the BVI Ports Authority in Port Purcell and BVIEC Power Station in Pockwood Pond will be closed.

The new Wartsila generators for the Pockwood Pond Power station are scheduled to resume transportation from Port Purcell, following the completion of repairs to the self-propelled modular trailer used for transporting.

The public is notified that the scheduled road closures on Tuesday, August 23 and Thursday, August 25 from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. to facilitate the transportation of the new Wartsila generators, has been postponed until further notice.

The self-propelled modular trailer used for transporting the new Wartsila generators from Port Purcell to the Pockwood Pond Power Station is currently not working and in need of repair.
