The Public is reminded that the collection of the required one-time fee payment is currently on hold until further notice for persons who were granted approval on Crown Land in the Bond subdivision development on Virgin Gorda. 

Madame Speaker, lands have always been central to the economic and social development of the Virgin Islands.  Ownership of our land has enabled greater prosperity and opportunities for homeownership, commercial development and recreation to name a few.

The public is notified that the Ministry of Natural Resources and Labour is not accepting any new applications for Crown Lands until further notice, as the distribution of lands is currently under review as part of the Commission of Inquiry reform process to satisfy recommendation B30 (Disposal of Crown Land Policy).

Residents of Anegada are invited to a public meeting on Sunday, October 2 at the Emile Dunlop Community Centre at 1:00 p.m. to discuss matters including the Commission of Inquiry and other Government reforms, Anegada lands, and other current matters.

The Cabinet of the Virgin Islands has recently approved the re-establishment of the Technical Review Committee that will advise the Ministry of Natural Resources and Labour on all matters regarding the sustainable development of the coastline, seabed and marine estate. 

Minister for Natural Resources and Labour Honourable Melvin Turnbull, Acting Permanent Secretary Mr. Joseph Smith-Abbott and Reviewer Mr. David Abednego are featured as they held their first meeting in relation to the Commission of Inquiry’s Recommendation B30 on the disposal of Crown Lands.
