Minister for Communications and Works, Honourable Mark Vanterpool, has endorsed the Energy and Conservation: Education and Awareness Campaign which was launched today with two school visits.
The Ministry of Communications and Works is moving to ensure that the Territory achieves its stated objectives on energy through a comprehensive policy which will diversify the way energy is produced.
Energy issues in the Territory as well as renewable energy plans for the future were discussed when stakeholders in the industry met at a workshop last week.

As a habit, as Chairman of the BVI Tourist Board, I rarely speak on a tourism matter after the Hon Premier and Minister of Tourism, after all, when he speaks our role at the Board is to move to implementation.
Madam Speaker, allow me to update this Honourable House on our Government's continuing efforts to provide a reliable supply of electricity to residents and businesses of the Virgin Islands.
The Government of the Virgin Islands, through the Ministry of Communications and Works, is preparing to integrate renewable energy sources as part of the electricity infrastructure in the Territory.
