Firstly, allow me to wish the people of the Virgin Islands a blessed and prosperous 2024. May we as a people ask Our Most High God for wisdom, knowledge, and understanding as we navigate the tumultuous waters on this journey of nation building.
Climate change is the single greatest threat to our survival and development. As small islands, we contribute less than a drop in the bucket to the problem, yet, stand on the frontlines of the climate crisis, experiencing the worst and most severe impacts soonest.

As Minister for Communications and Works with the responsibility for airports and fire and rescue services, I take this opportunity to announce that the stationed fire truck has been returned to Anegada, which has resulted in the reopening of the Auguste George Airport. Your safety and well-being have been our top priorities throughout this process.
The Government of the Virgin Islands is pleased to announce a special initiative to provide relief from the increasing fuel surcharge during the holiday season.
