World Book and Copyright Day 2024

Tuesday 23rd April, 2024

World Book and Copyright Day, celebrated annually on April 23rd, holds profound significance as a global tribute to the joy of reading and the cultural importance of books. This special day serves as a reminder of the transformative power of literature in our lives and communities.

Books serve as a timeless link connecting the past with the future, bridging generations, and fostering understanding across diverse cultures. Through the pages of a book, we embark on journeys of imagination, discovery, and enlightenment.

I am pleased to share that for World Book and Copyright Day 2024, the BVI National Commission for UNESCO, in collaboration with our esteemed local authors, will be visiting schools across our Territory. This initiative aims to inspire our students and promote the love of reading through engaging interactions with talented writers from our own community.

These interactions with our talented authors will undoubtedly enrich our students' literary experiences and ignite their passion for storytelling and creativity.

Let us embrace World Book and Copyright Day as a celebration of knowledge, imagination, and the enduring legacy of literature. Together, let's nurture a culture of reading and appreciation for our local literary talents.

Thank you to the BVI National Commission for UNESCO and our esteemed authors for their dedication to promoting literacy and education in our community.

Happy World Book and Copyright Day to all!

Thank you to our dedicated library staff and partners for their hard work in organising this exciting week. Let's make Library Week 2024 a resounding success!
