At our last press conference on 8th June the Premier and I announced the agreement on implementation of the Commission of Inquiry Report recommendations. The Framework document put forward by the Government of National Unity set out a plan and timeline for the implementation of 48 of the 49 recommendations which was accepted by the UK Government.

Excellencies, distinguished delegates, ladies and gentleman,  The British Virgin Islands is fully committed to implementation of Sustainable Development Goal 14. We are following through on our obligations through a combination of marine conservation measures and the development of a sustainable blue economy. In this regard, good progress is being made on re-growing our mangrove forests and expanding our coral nurseries.
