The new Peebles Hospital has scored an “A” on the Hospital Safety Index which was recently applied by the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) through its unit for Emergency Preparedness and Disaster Relief.

Businesses and organisations, including registered and not-yet-registered non-profit organisations are encouraged to continue participating in the ongoing National Risk Assessment (NRA) exercise currently being conducted in the Territory.
Residents of the BVI are encouraged to organise a wetland or near shore clean-up and educate themselves on the importance of wetlands as the Territory prepares to observe World Wetlands Day on Monday February 2.

Reigning Miss BVI, Ms. Jaynene Jno-Lewis was congratulated yesterday on an outstanding performance at the Miss Universe Pageant 2015 held in Doral, Florida.
Minister of Education Honourable Myron Walwyn met with the Ms Jno Lewis and congratulated her of behalf of the Government.
The senior population of the Territory will be provided with information on healthy aging and life planning in the first of a series of seminars to be held next month.

Students of the Eselyn Henley Richez Learning Centre and the Department of Social Development are the recipients of the gifts from the gift drive ‘Bringing Christmas to You’, organised by the British Virgin Islands (BVI) Post during the Christmas season.
Food handlers who are desirous of participating in this year’s Farmer’s Week activities are reminded that they require a valid food handler’s permit to be able to do so.
The Government of the Virgin Islands continues to deliver on its commitments to improve the Territory’s infrastructure and is inviting tenders for the Rehabilitation of Roads and Slope Stabilisation works at Horsepath, Tortola.
According to the Director of Communications Mrs. Arliene T. Penn, the proposed works include the construction of two retaining structures which are reinforced concrete counterfort walls along with rehabilitation of the road surface.
