Officers from the Department of Disaster Management (DDM) were joined by colleagues in the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries to carry out sampling and analysis on Virgin Gorda and Jost Van Dyke as part of the ongoing Virgin Islands Comprehensive Soils Study.

The BVI Airports Authority (the Authority) wishes to advise the travelling public that airports in the Territory have resumed normal operations at 7:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 27, following a brief closure.

Minister for Education, Youth Affairs and Sports, Honourable Sharie B. de Castro, has said that the Assistance Grant Programme under the ministry, will aid Virgin Islanders in accessing financial support in the areas of education, sports and creative arts.

On December 30^th, 2022, the United States Internal Revenue Service (“IRS”) released Notice 2023-11 (the “2023 Notice”) for foreign financial institutions (“FFI”) in jurisdictions with a Model 1 Intergovernmental Agreement (“IGA”) in place.

The Government of the Virgin Islands (GOVI) has received financing from the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) in an amount equivalent to US$65,291,000 towards the cost of the CDB No. 12/SRF-OR-BVI: Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Loan – Hurricane Irma Project (the Project) and intends to apply a portion of the proceeds to eligible payments under this contract.
