Peebles Hospital is one step closer to becoming “baby friendly” following the conclusion of a training workshop organised by the Ministry of Health and Social Development and the BVI Health Services Authority.

Virgin Islanders will soon see a change in the process for obtaining British Overseas Territories Citizen passports which are issued locally.

The final report on ‘Building on a thriving & sustainable Financial Services sector in the British Virgin Islands’ has been released.

The three month effort was commissioned by Government and facilitated by global consultants McKinsey with involvement of the industry and other stakeholders. The aim was to lay out a pragmatic strategy and implementation plan to ensure a thriving and sustainable Financial Services sector. 

The British Virgin Islands (BVI) will be represented at the 2015 Risk and Insurance Management Society (RIMS) annual conference to be held in New Orleans, Louisiana from the April 26 to April 29.

A case study to evaluate the Territory’s implementation of the ‘Port of Spain Declaration’ was facilitated by the Ministry of Health and Social Development this week.

The study is part of Government’s continued efforts to reduce chronic, non-communicable diseases (NCDs) in the Territory.

His Excellency the Governor John S Duncan, OBE is inviting members of the public to submit nominations for Her Majesty the Queen’s New Year Honours 2016.

The New Year Honours List recognises individuals for outstanding achievement and service across the United Kingdom and the Overseas Territories. An exhibition highlighting workplaces in the public and private sector and a ceremony on health and safety in the workplace are activities slated to take place as the Territory observes World Day for Safety and Health at Work on Tuesday, April 28.

The Town and Country Planning Department is inviting the public to a community meeting to discuss matters regarding the development of the Josiah’s Bay area. The purpose of the meeting is to advise that a plan is underway, encourage citizen participation and solicit issues that should be addressed early in the planning.
