The British Virgin Islands (BVI) financial services industry was lauded as the most successful in the Caribbean by Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) consultant, Dr. June Soomer.
The Government of the Virgin Islands acting through the Attorney General’s Chambers is inviting qualified, professional, experienced, and resourceful candidates to submit proposals for the provision of law revision services and training in legislative drafting to the Government of the Virgin Islands.
Deputy Governor, Mr. David Archer, Jr. will act in the Office of Governor from July 9 – 19, 2022 in the absence of His Excellency the Governor, Mr. John J. Rankin, CMG who will be out of the Territory.

The Government of the British Virgin Islands (GOVI) has received financing from the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) in an amount equivalent to US$65,291,000 towards the cost of the CDB No. 12/SRF-OR-BVI: Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Loan – Hurricane Irma Project (the Project) and intends to apply a portion of the proceeds of this financing to eligible payments under a contract for which this invitation is issued.
The Ministry of Health and Social Development is increasing its surveillance in response to the detection of Monkeypox cases in the Region and the high risk of disease introduction due to increased travel, in conjunction with the Territory’s return to pre-pandemic protocols.

Minister for Natural Resources and Labour Honourable Melvin M. Turnbull has stated that residents and visitors of the Anegada community should refrain from visiting the conch mounts due to the recent disposal of Shortfin Pilot Whale carcasses that were in the area.
