The Government of the Virgin Islands in collaboration with the BVI Christian Council is inviting the residents to a National Service of Thanksgiving and Unity at the Queen Elizabeth II Park on Sunday, November 5 at 3:30 p.m.
To support the continuation of business and rebuilding in the Virgin Islands following the passage of Hurricane Irma on September 6, the BVI Ports Authority (BVIPA) is extending its hours, effective tomorrow, Wednesday, November 1. Customers will have access to services at the Port Purcell facility from 8:30 AM to 7:30 PM, Monday through Friday and from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM on Saturdays.
Premier and Minister of Finance, Dr. the Honourable D. Orlando Smith, OBE presented an update on the current status of the Territory’s Hurricane Recovery and Restoration efforts at a meeting held in Miami over the weekend.

The Ministry of Health and Social Development in its response to providing relief to the community in the aftermath of Hurricanes Irma and Maria, has started the application process to provide housing assistance to homeowners.
Premier and Minister of Finance, Dr. the Honourable D. Orlando Smith, OBE left the Territory on Friday, October 27 to attend a Caribbean Overseas Territories meeting and tourism industry meetings in Miami and New York. The Premier will also travel to London, UK for attendance at official meetings.
Workers in the field of construction are invited to register with the Labour Department’s registration desk for employment within the Virgin Islands labour force.
