A contract was signed today between the Social Security Board and James Todman Construction Limited for the construction of affordable housing in the Territory. Upon completion, the project will result in forty-three (43) housing units available on seven (7) acres of land located in Joe’s Hill.
Dozens of BVI nationals and residents are registering to return to the Territory through the Controlled Re-Entry of Nationals and Permanent Residents to the Virgin Islands process.
Premier and Minister of Finance, Honourable Andrew A. Fahie, will make a live address to the Territory on the second phase of the Virgin Islands Economic Response Plan to COVID-19, today Thursday, May 28 at 8:00 p.m.

The Board of Directors of the British Virgin Islands Tourist Board & Film Commission has announced the appointment of Mr. Rhodni Skelton as the Acting Director of Tourism, effective Monday, 25th May 2020. The appointment will run until 30th June, 2020, by which time the organization aims to select a substantive candidate for the post of Director of Tourism.

Dog owners are to ensure that their pets are always leashed to ensure the safety and peace of mind of beach goers as dogs are allowed on the Territory’s beaches between 6:00 am. and 8:00 a.m.
The BVI Health Services Authority (BVIHSA) has received a new Cepheid GeneXpert machine and cartridges/tests from the United Kingdom Foreign and Commonwealth Office that will enhance the Territory’s ability to carry out COVID-19 testing.
The Government of Virgin Islands (GOVI) has received financing from the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) in an amount equivalent to US$65,291,000 towards the cost of CDB No. 12/SRF-OR-BVI: Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Loan – Hurricane Irma Project and intends to apply a portion of the proceeds of this financing to eligible payments under a contract for which this invitation is issued.
