Director of Waste Management Mr. Marcus Solomon continues to seek the public’s support in reducing derelict vehicles throughout the Territory.

Mr. Solomon said approximately 200 plus derelicts were tagged for the year thus far, and more than 53,000 pounds of scrap metal exported.

“We need the support of the community to keep the derelict situation under control.  We want you to contact the department and report derelicts,” Mr. Solomon said. He added, “We can only achieve these numbers with the help of the community.  We appreciate their support and continue to look forward to a successful relationship as we seek to ensure a cleaner greener and more beautiful BVI.”

The public is asked to report derelicts on private or public property by contacting the department at 468-4934, email dwm@gov.vg or via the BVIGovReportit app. Persons are advised to record location information and submit to the department or via the app accompanied with photo where applicable.

The community is also reminded that persons can access information regarding their tagged vehicle whether it is located on private or public property by using the Derelict Removal Information System website at https://eservices.gov.vg/derelict/

The Department of Waste Management is committed to ensuring that the natural beauty of the Territory is enhanced by utilising state of the art waste management technology to ensure timely collection disposal and where possible the recycling of waste.
