Four students from the Elmore Stoutt High School ESHS and one student from the Hamilton Lavity Stoutt Community College (HLSCC) were selected to represent the Virgin Islands in Athens Greece for the Robotics Global Competition in September. The students Mr. Jayron Gibson, Ms. Mickayla Jack, Mr. Kamouri Anthony, Ms. Judiah Case, Mr. Elian Jones were the top students who passed the rigorous quizzes, tests and student criteria during the course of the two (2) week Robomindset Summer Camp. The course was conducted by the Ministry of Education, Youth Affairs and Sports, the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States Robotics Association (OECS RA) and the St. Kitts Nevis Robotics Association (SKNRA). Minister for Education, Youth Affairs and Sports Honourable Sharie de Castro announced the members of the team during a ceremony attended by parents and supporters who also saw the results of the students’ summer camp work. Exhibitions were also conducted throughout the day for the students to showcase and fine tune their robots.
