Minister for Communications and Works Honourable Kye Rymer has reassured Air Traffic Controllers that the Government of the Virgin Islands deeply values their invaluable work and is dedicated to addressing their concerns.

Honourable Rymer was addressing the workers at the BVI Airport Authority as the Territory observed International Air Traffic Controller Day on October 20.

Minister Rymer conveyed his well wishes to the Air Traffic Controllers and expressed appreciation for their tireless efforts. He acknowledged past challenges and assured the workers that their concerns were being actively resolved.

Honourable Rymer added that the government is focused on the continued recruitment of controllers, and extended congratulatory welcome to those officers who were newly certified.

International Air Traffic Controller Day is an annual commemoration that highlights the crucial role of air traffic control in ensuring the safety of aircraft, both in-flight and on the ground at airports.

The British Virgin Islands Airport Authority remains steadfast in its commitment to the development of infrastructure, services, and regulatory compliance. By doing so, it upholds a safe, sustainable, efficient, and economically viable airport system within the Virgin Islands.
