Minister for Works, Honorable Kye M. Rymer, has said that his ministry is focusing on improving the most vulnerable areas of the Territory’s road network as it continues to develop and maintain public infrastructure.

Honourable Rymer said the areas of work include:

Manchester Area Road Works:
Work on the road starts December 3, at 10:00 a.m. The Ridge Road near the small lookout by the Methodist Church in Manchester will be closed for one week due to trenching works. Motorists are advised to use alternate routes because of heavy equipment operations and demolition activities.  Local access will be provided for residents in the area.

Paraquita Bay to Hodges Creek Road Project:
The road will be closed from Saturday, December 7, to Sunday, December 8, for the next three weekends to facilitate the installation of electrical line conduits.

Lower Windy Hill Retaining Wall Project:
This road remains closed for the construction of a retaining wall at the final corner leading into Carrot Bay.

Road Closure Update - Ridge Road Works:
Ridge Road is now open to the public.

Little Dix Road Closure:
Work has commenced between the East End/Long Look Community Centre and the East End Police Station. Motorists are encouraged to use Greenland Road via Francis Lettsome Primary School to access Ridge Road and East End.

Ongoing Road Works - Sea Cows Bay Area:
Drainage works will begin on Tuesday, December 3, for a new drain crossing near the junction of Elevator Hill and the Desalination Plant at Sea Cows Bay. The initial phase will prepare the shoulder to create a bypass lane for motorists during construction. Motorists must adhere to all road signs and follow instructions from traffic control personnel throughout this four-week project.

Sir Francis Drake Highway Update - Prospect Reef Area:
This section of the road is currently fully accessible.

The Ministry of Communications and Works remains committed to enhancing the infrastructure of the Virgin Islands through strategic planning and execution of essential projects.
