The public is notified that a Territory-wide fogging campaign will begin on Friday, August 18 in the following areas.

  • Beef Island ending at Fat Hogs Bay.
  • Locality 3 including areas from the CSY Dock to Pasea.

Fogging will be done between 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. and on some mornings from 6:00 to 7:30 a.m. until all areas are completed. Persons with respiratory illnesses, particularly asthmatics, should leave the areas being fogged for at least an hour.

Residents are reminded that fogging will provide only temporary relief from the mosquitoes. Householders and property owners must therefore be vigilant in preventing mosquitoes from breeding in stagnant water around their homes and businesses. Self-inspections should be done weekly.

For further information on how to control the Aedes aegypti mosquito, telephone the Vector Control Unit of the Environmental Health Division at 468-5110.
