The Government of the Virgin Islands is inviting tenders for the Reconstruction of Road, Slope Stabilisation and Drainage Works at Windy Hill.
According to Director of Communications, Mrs. Arliene T. Penn, the scope of works includes the construction of two, three meter high retaining walls for slope stabilisation, the construction of reinforced concrete road pavement, a combination of reinforced concrete box culverts and three open box drains which are proposed for the collection of water runoff.
Mrs. Penn also said, “proposed works include furnishing all plant, labour, equipment, materials and performing all operations in connection with the Reconstruction of Road, Slope Stabilisation and Drainage Works at Windy Hill, in accordance with the tender and construction drawings and specifications.”
Prospective tenderers are required to furnish original documents of Certificates of Good Standing in respects to Social Security and taxes, in addition to a separate Certificate of Good Standing from the Commercial Registry, if the company is registered. A valid 2015 Trade License and Tender Document is also required and should be accompanied with a tender security from a bank or insurance company for a sum equivalent to 5% of the contract sum.
Application for Tender documents and instructions to tenderers can be summited to the Chairman, Central Tenders Board at the Ministry of Finance (Procurement Unit) RFG Place, Third Floor, Waterfront Drive. Applications can be submitted from Monday, April 27 to Friday, May 8, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
A non-refundable fee of $250.00 payable by cash or banker cashier’s cheque (payable to the Accountant General) is required for the Tender Documents.
Interested tenderers should submit one original and two copies of the tender, depositing them in the Tender Box at the Ministry of Finance (Procurement Unit), RFG Place, Third Floor. Tenders should be submitted no later than 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 16.
A Pre-Tender meeting is scheduled for Friday, May 15, in the Procurement Conference Room, RFG Place, Third Floor, at 10:00 a.m. This will be followed by a site visit. All prospective tenderers are invited to attend. Tenders will be publicly opened at the Ministry of Finance (Procurement Unit), Tuesday, June 16, at 12:00 p.m.
