Minister for Communications and Works, Honourable Kye M. Rymer, has announced a temporary halt to ongoing roadworks during peak traffic hours to mitigate congestion in Sea Cow's Bay.

Honourable Rymer apologised to motorists and the public for disruptions caused to the traffic proceeding into Road Town and stated that roadworks will be scheduled before and after rush hours including evenings in certain areas to ease the traffic flow.

Honourable Rymer said, “In addition, the recent washout on Lower Windy Hill has necessitated the road closure for urgent repairs, which has contributed to increased traffic through Sea Cow's Bay.  Motorists are encouraged to use Treadfall (Elevator Road) for quicker access to Road Town via Chalwell.”

The minister has also stated that Hodges Creek will be closed to traffic from Friday, November 22, for an initial four days to allow for trenching operations related to the installation of the BVI Electricity Corporation power lines and the upgrade of water lines.

Honourable Rymer is urging the public to follow all road signage and notices as infrastructure improvements continue. “While there may be temporary inconveniences, these efforts will result in long-term benefits for residents and visitors in the Virgin Islands,” he said.
The Ministry of Communications and Works, remains committed to enhancing public infrastructure in accordance with international standards while ensuring reliable and affordable utilities for all.
