Managing Director of the BVI Airports Authority, Mr. Kurt Menal is notifying the traveling public that the Virgin Gorda International Airport will be closed from Tuesday, August 29 to Thursday, September 7.

Mr. Menal said the closure is necessary to facilitate the airport’s annual runway maintenance programme.

The Managing Director is urging travelers with confirmed tickets for travel during the period of closure to contact their respective airlines directly for information regarding their travel.

Mr. Menal thanks the traveling public in Virgin Gorda for their patience and cooperation as the authority seeks to uphold its motto of “Safety is our #1 Priority”.

Mr. Menal is also encouraging persons to contact the Operations Department at telephone number (284) 394- 8000 or via email at ops@bviaa.com should they have any queries or concerns regarding the closure.
