Team Warriors, has been crowned the champions of the just concluded Public Service Week 2024.

The team represented by Public Officers from the Ministry of Education, Youth Affairs and Sports and the Ministry of Health and Social Development amassed a total of 1325 points in the week of activities followed by Team Supersonics who placed 2nd with 1150 points. The supersonics represented the Governor’s Group, Constitutionally Established Offices/Departments and the Ministry of Environment, Natural Resources and Climate Change.

Team Eagles comprised of the Premier's Office, Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sustainable Development, Ministry of Financial Services, Economic Development and Digital Transformation and the Ministry of Finance was awarded 3rd place, with a total of 1100 points while Team Panthers of the Ministry of Communications and Works placed 4th with a total of 750 points.

Deputy Governor, Mr. David D. Archer, Jr. congratulated the public officers for their efforts to keep the Public Service functioning during trying times in the Territory. Mr. Archer Jr. stated that Public Service Week’s success is a representation that the Public Service is a strong family that is connected by the collective drive to advance the Virgin Islands.

The Deputy Governor said, “Throughout Public Service Week, we witnessed public officers, old friends and family come together to laugh, celebrate each other and encourage pride in the work that we do. The Public Service is an image of the hopes and dreams of a nation, and our Public Service reflects an image of prosperity, transformation and the vision of an advanced Virgin Islands.”

Public Service Week was observed from November 10 to 16, under the theme ‘Unity in Service: Our Public Standing Together’. Throughout the week, public officers engaged in a scavenger hunt, volleyball tournament, spelling bee, daily quizzes, domino tournament, track and field sports day and the Public Service Employee Recognition Ceremony. The events were aimed at fostering unity, team collaboration and togetherness across the Public Service.

            The Office of the Deputy Governor and the Department of Human Resources remains committed to building a healthy working environment within the Public Service while boosting productivity.
