Teachers from secondary schools in the Territory are participating in a five day training workshop to ensure the Territory’s future is secure in the area of Financial Services.

The workshop commenced yesterday and will continue until March 27. The aim is to educate business teachers on the financial services industry and equip them with relevant information for the classroom.

Minister for Education and Culture, Honourable Myron V. Walwyn encouraged the teachers to use the information gained from the five day exercise and ensure that students are ready to assume jobs and careers in the Financial Services industry.

Managing Director of LGS and Associates, Mrs. Lorna Smith commended the teachers for being eager to learn about Financial Services. She also noted that it is their responsibility to protect the future of the industry.

The training is facilitated by Director of the Financial Services Institute, Mr. Rajeshwar Krishnan.
