The public is notified that the James Walter Francis Drive, Waterfront Drive, and Sir Francis Drake Highway between the BVI Ports Authority in Port Purcell and BVIEC Power Plant in Pockwood Pond will be closed on Sunday, August 21; Tuesday, August 23; and Thursday, August 25 from 10:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.

The purpose of the road closure is to facilitate the transportation of three diesel generators associated with the BVI Electricity Corporation’s Phase V Power Development Programme.

Residents in the affected areas are asked to utilise alternate routes; to refrain from parking in or on the side of the roadway and to remove all derelict vehicles from the main road.

Temporary interruptions in electricity, telephone and cable television services will also occur during the transportation times.

The Government of the Virgin Islands thanks the public for their patience as it continues to enhance the electrical capacity in the Territory.
