Press Release
Deputy Governor David D. Archer Jr has said that it is important to celebrate public officers during this milestone 20th year of Public Service Week.
Mr. Archer said, “Given what the Territory has endured thus far with the COVID-19 pandemic, public officers remained resilient and worked harder to ensure critical services remained available and gaps were filled where necessary through reassignments. It is important that our officers are recognised and appreciated for the hard work they continue to deliver.”
The week will be observed from November 22 to 27 under the theme “Twenty Years of Resilience, Hope and Celebration.”
Public Service Week celebrations include
- Sunday, November 22: Virtual Service of Praise and Thanksgiving to be aired on Government’s Facebook page @BVI Government
- Monday, November 23: Dominoes tournament begins. Daily email quiz begins
- Tuesday, November 24: Virtual Tic Tac Toe, a Hollywood Squares-style trivia competition
- Wednesday, November 25: Dominoes finals. Virtual Recognition Ceremony for retirees and for public officers who have achieved service milestones
- Thursday, November 26: Round-The-Key Basketball Shootout. Three-on-three tournament
