Premier of the Virgin Islands, Honourable Dr. Natalio Wheatley, expressed profound pride in the achievements of the Territory’s youth who have successfully completed their secondary education at the Elmore Stoutt Secondary School, marking this moment as a pivotal transition into adulthood.

Premier Wheatley encouraged the graduating class to continue to embody confidence in one's abilities, and to strive towards success.

He stated, "The lesson you must take away is that you are capable of achieving great things once you apply yourself. Your future is bright. There are a lot of people who are here, willing and ready to support you to be the best you can be – from the Premier and the Government to your parents and teachers.

In his address, Premier Wheatley  also acknowledged the prestigious legacy of the Elmore Stoutt High School (ESHS), formerly known as the BVI High School, which has played a pivotal role in shaping leaders across various fields globally. He celebrated the resilience and accomplishments of graduates from the institution, noting the institution's ongoing commitment to excellence.

Premier Wheatley also recognised this year’s top 10 students including J’Quela Callwood, Alysa Penn,  Kayla Brathwaite, Anjanique Cheltenham, Shante Hitchman, Riannna Hawke, Madissen Browne, Naomi Onwufuju, Dakari Wheatley – Adams, and Ashanna Tillac whose stellar performance, discipline and endurance also highlight the enduring achievements of the Elmore Stoutt High School.

Noting recent achievements, Premier Wheatley applauded ESHS' debate team for their historic victory in the National Tourism Debate semifinals. He commended the team consisting of Adrianne Thomas, Naomi Omwufuju, and Kande Richardson for their dedication and success, as they go on to participate in the finals against the Turks and Caicos Islands.

Further, Premier Wheatley extended heartfelt appreciation to the educators, principals, and staff of ESHS for their dedication and commitment towards nurturing the next generation of leaders. He also thanked the Ministry of Education, public officers, parents, and families for their unwavering support in creating an enabling environment for the graduates.

In closing, Premier Wheatley encouraged the graduates to pursue their passions and embrace opportunities for further education and career development. He assured them of the Government's steadfast support and reiterated his confidence in their ability to excel in their future endeavors.

The Government of the Virgin Islands remains resolute in the promotion of the overall development of the Territory through commitment and sustainable transformation.
