The Ministry of Natural Resources and Labour, and the National Parks Trust of the Virgin Islands are seeking to recruit three (3) new board members for the National Parks Trust Board of Directors.

Under the National Parks Trust of the Virgin Islands Act, 2006, (the Act), the Trust (NPTVI) is constituted as a statutory corporation, of which a Board of Directors serves as the governing body. Schedule 1 of the Act outlines the Board’s membership and procedures.

The roles carry a modest stipend and reasonable expenses are paid.  The persons must live on the islands of Tortola, Virgin Gorda and Anegada respectively, and are expected to represent their community’s unique needs and views. Board Members must exercise a reasonable duty of care in carrying out his/her responsibilities under the Act to be able to: attend meetings, make informed decisions regarding Trust business by reading the information provided and requesting additional information if necessary, and act in a responsible manner.
