The Territory's newest centenarian, Mrs. Henrietta A. Smith, celebrated this milestone with family, friends and Government officials. In attaining this considerable milestone, she received a $5,000 cheque from the Government of the Virgin Islands; part of a decade old tradition to honour the Territory's "golden citizens" for their valuable contribution to the development of the Territory. Her Majesty the Queen also issued a card to Mrs. Smith in commemoration of her 100th birthday.
