Staff from the Conservation and Fisheries Department, assisted by representatives from the National Parks Trust of the Virgin Islands and the Rotaract Club of Tortola planted mangroves at the Brandywine Bay area on Friday April 22. A total of about 40 mangrove seedlings were planted. Organiser and Environmental Education Officer, Mrs. Cynara Benjamin-Duncan said that the department hopes to organise more mangrove planting activities. She encouraged members of the public to show their more support as the department strives to raise the profile of the environment. The theme for Earth Day 2016 was “Trees for the Earth!” (Photo Credit/Ronnielle Frazer)
