A limited listing of approved businesses and establishments are allowed to operate under the Curfew Act, 2017, Imposition of a Curfew (No.28) Order, 2020 in the British Virgin Islands.

They are as follows:

  • Supermarkets/minimarts;
  • Approved delivery services;
  • Pharmacies/drug stores;
  • Bakeries;
  • Banks;
  • Commercial farming and fishing;
  • Fuel and LPG Stations;
  • Private healthcare providers; and
  • Burial services subject to approval by the Minister of Health

All other businesses and establishments not listed are ordered to close effective today, August 26 to September 2. This comes after Minister for Health and Social Development Honurable Carvin Malone reported on August 24 of the 17 active cases of COVID-19. The purpose of the curfew order remains to control, suppress and prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the Territory.

Businesses approved to operate must ensure that operating times allow for staff to report to and leave work within the imposed curfew hours of 5:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
