HOLIDAY MESSAGE BY
DEPUTY PREMIER & MINISTER FOR HEALTH AND SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT
HONOURABLE CARVIN MALONE
DECEMBER 24, 2019
Season’s Greetings to all near and far, I am Carvin Malone, Minister for Health and Social Development. It’s the holiday season and you know what that means? It’s the end of the year where in some places, the work slows down which allows persons to take a break. But I’m here to let you know that the work here in the Ministry of Health and Social Development is on-going and our efforts are intensifying to ensure that you the people are served justly.
Here in the Ministry, departments, units and statutory bodies, there are well over 500 employees which is no easy task to manage them on some days.
Over in Environmental Health Division, it is very busy this time of year. When everyone is fighting over team coconut, guava or pineapple tart, the technical teams are out conducting endless inspections and food safety training sessions to ensure that businesses handle your holiday delicacies with care. While Public Health Division remains committed on combating non-communicable diseases which includes plans to get your eating habits in check.
Now, I am always happy to give a progress report on our clean-up efforts, collecting derelicts, metals and debris. While the Social Development is preparing to spread cheer to our most vulnerable children and families.
So cheers to a fruitful 2019 and my colleagues and I look forward to serving you into a prosperous 2020.
