Commencing Friday, May 22, the public can log on to bvi.gov.vg to get updates on ongoing infrastructural works in the Territory.

The Government of the Virgin Islands is moving in this direction to ensure that the public has information on the precise location where works have started and are ongoing. Additionally, the map will give information on scheduled work, road updates and detour options.

Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Communications and Works, Mr. Anthony McMaster stated, “It is important for us to exhaust all communications efforts to ensure that the public is well informed of all ongoing works including roads, sewerage and water.”

Mr. McMaster added, “Google Map will provide a new and innovate way of bringing continued awareness to the Territory’s infrastructural development. As Government moves forward with the development of a better infrastructural network, it is imperative that the people of the Virgin Islands know exactly what projects are scheduled; where they are currently being executed; and, how it is intended to impact the Territory. I encourage the public to utilise the map when it gets on stream to find out where road works are happening in their area.”

The Government will continue to keep the public informed of ongoing works through all available forms of media.

The Ministry of Communications and Works advises the public to continue to stay abreast with the local community boards on the radio and online.
