The 2025 Inter-Primary Schools Track and Field Championships has ended with the Francis Lettsome Primary School being the best primary school in the Territory athletically for the third consecutive year.

The championships hosted by the Ministry of Education, Youth Affairs and Sports commenced with an opening ceremony and parade of teams at the A.O. Shirley Recreation Grounds on March 26 to 28 followed by events including three hundred meters races to four by one-hundred meter relays.  

The sporting events culminated with the two hundred meter races to the Sprint Medley Relay finals and announcement of the winning school.

 Acting Director of Youth and Affairs and Sports Ms. Shaunice Leonard extended congratulations to the 21 public and private schools that participated in the events adding that this year’s championships continues to set the stage for the next generation of talent.

Ms. Leonard said, “These events not only showcased extraordinary talent and dedication from our young athletes but also reaffirmed our commitment to providing platforms that nurture and develop future elite sports athletes. We recognise the exceptional efforts of the officials, coaches, principals, parents, and student athletes, who collectively fostered an environment of excellence.”

Ms. Leonard thanked the ministry for its continued support and this year’s sponsors including 284 Media, One Mart, Road Town Wholesale Trading Ltd, Supa Valu, and Recreation Trust.

Division Champions for each age group for the boys and girls with the highest individual scores for the different divisions are as follows:

  • The under 9 Male Division Champion is Earlon Prescott with 20 points. The under 9 Female Division Champion is Janaicy Gumbs with 24 points.
  • The under 11 Male Division Champion is Kaylaun Douglas with 30 points. The under 11 Female Division Champion is a three way tie between Jaydia Todman, E”Ryah Casey, and Chloe-Rose Salamon with 18 points respectively.
  • The 13 plus Male Division Champion is Ke’Mori Daway with 30 points. The 13 plus Female Division Champion is Shanae Benjamin with 30 points.

The 2025 Victor Ludorum title was a three way tie between Ke’Mori Daway, D’Karai Prescott, and Kaylaun Douglas with 30 points respectively.

The 2025 Victrix Ludorum title was a tie between Shanae Benjamin and Shakyla Collins with 30 points respectively.

 The Ministry of Education, Youth Affairs and Sports continues to provide high-quality educational services, as well as facilitate access to and participation in sports and recreation, in order to enrich the lives of all residents of the Virgin Islands.
