Owners, managers and food handlers of food establishments on Anegada are notified that the Environmental Health Division will be conducting educational sessions on the island on May 4 and 13.

            Sessions will be held at the Government Office on May 4 and at the Emile Dunlop Community Centre on May 13 between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 11a.m., and 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. All food handlers are required to attend one of the sessions to renew expired permits.

Persons renewing their food handler’s certificate are asked to bring their expired certificate, work permit and/or picture identification.

Persons seeking to obtain a food handlers’ certificate for the first time are asked to bring the result of their skin (Mantoux) and stool tests, work permit and /or picture identification, social security card and one recent passport size photograph.

Following on a decision made on April 1, renewing and new food handlers will be processed separately. New food handler’s classes will now be conducted on the last Thursday of each month on Tortola. Provisions will however be made to have a class on Anegada for new food handlers if there are three or more persons signing up on May 4.
