The Environmental Health Division is alerting food handlers on Jost Van Dyke that an educational Session will be held on Tuesday, December 6, at Rudy’s in Great Harbour.

Registration will begin at 10:30 a.m., with the session immediately following at 11:00 a.m. Only persons who are registered and seated prior to 11:00 a.m. will be admitted. Acting Chief Environmental Health Officer, Mrs. Yolanda Penn said, “Both new food handlers and those who are renewing their food handler card will be processed during this session. However, new food handlers that are obtaining food certification for the first time, must contact the office at 468-5110 prior to the session to pre-register.” 

Persons renewing their food handlers’ certificates are required to bring their expired certificates, social security card, work permit and/or picture identification.

Persons seeking to obtain a food handlers’ certificate for the first time are also required to bring the result of their Mantoux (skin) and stool tests, work permit and/or picture identification, social security card and one recent passport- sized photograph.

The Environmental Health Division is committed to ensuring that all aspects of the environment with the potential to negatively impact health are managed efficiently to enable all persons in the BVI to attain and maintain optimal health and social well-being.
