The Premier’s Office, acting on behalf of the Government of the Virgin Islands wishes to procure the services of a News Anchor for the objective of supplementing the Government’s public relations activities in developing social media content with digital, broadcast and animated communications.

The scope of works for the News Anchor includes producing news programmes to keep the public fully informed of Government’s initiatives, programmes, laws and policies; Presenting daily live and pre-recorded news stories on Government Ministries and Departments in a professional manner; conducting live interviews with Public Service experts and approved guests on social media, YouTube and GIS TV; and providing live field coverage of Government events to facilitate news coverage.

Successful candidates must be able to follow current events in the Government, and draft and present stories and information to the public in an informative way; anchor live coverage of events, and give commentary in promoting the work of the Government, amongst other duties.

Applicants must have a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in communications, public relations, journalism, and marketing; a sound knowledge of scriptwriting, and the ability to exercise discretion and good judgment.

The assignment is expected to be executed on a full-time basis over an initial period of seven (7) months.

Electronic copies of the Expression of Interest must be received no later than 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, 10 November 2022. The submission must be a non-editable format and not exceeding 10 MB.  The body of the email submission should include the name and address of the applicant and the subject of the email shall be, “Expression of Interest —Consultancy Services for NEWS ANCHOR”.
