A ceremony to recognise the contribution of educators and award students for the year will mark the opening of Education Week 2020.

Chief Education Officer, Mrs. Connie George said Education Week is an annual event in which the work of students and educators are highlighted and that this year’s activities will be observed under the theme, “Engage, Encourage, Empower, Educate.”

The week begins with an opening ceremony on Sunday, March 8 at the Eileene L. Parsons Auditorium, H Lavity Stoutt Community College, 3:30 p.m.

Other activities for the week are as follows:

  • Tuesday, March 10:  School/Principal/Teacher Exchange
  • Wednesday, March 11:
  • Inter Primary School Sports, A.O. Shirley Recreations Grounds at 9:00 a.m.
  • Inter Secondary Schools Debate Finals, Althea Scatliffe Primary School Court Yard at 6:00 p.m.
  • Thursday, March 12:
  • Inter Primary School Sports, A.O. Shirley Recreations Grounds at 12:00 p.m. 
  • Elmore Stoutt High School Right Start Programme, Eileene L. Parsons Auditorium at 9:00 a.m.
  • Friday, March 13:
  • Elmore Stoutt High School Right Start Programme, Eileene L. Parsons Auditorium at 9:00 a.m.
  • Open House, All Schools from 9:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
