Press Release
Deputy Governor Mrs. Rosalie Adams paid an official visit to Anegada on February 10.
The visit was a continuation of a series of familiarisation tours to the Sister Islands which began last October with a visit to Virgin Gorda.
On her arrival in Anegada on Friday, Mrs. Adams paid a courtesy call on Principal, Tonya Bertie-Phillip and the staff and students of the Claudia Creque Educational Centre.
The school hosted a special assembly to welcome the Deputy Governor who shared her childhood and career journey with the students and teachers. A question and answer session followed where students dialogued with the Deputy Governor on several issues.
Mrs. Adams was taken on a tour of the school’s compound by Principal Bertie-Phillip and further interacted with students in a class setting.
The Deputy Governor visited the Anegada Clinic and received a guided tour of the facility by District Nurse, Cris Anderson. She also presented a special basket to Mrs. Marjorie Norman, one of the island’s most senior residents, as part of her visit.
Mrs. Adams visited the Auguste George International Airport where she walked the grounds and interacted with public officers on duty.
The Deputy Governor visited other points of interests including the Theodolph Faulkner Museum, the Emile Dunlop Community Centre, the Theodolph Faulkner Administration Building, the Anegada District Office and the Fisherman’s Wharf.
Mrs. Adams was accompanied by Permanent Secretary, Mrs. Carolyn Stoutt Igwe and Sister Island Coordinator, Mr. Vincent Wheatley. An official visit to Jost Van Dyke is slated in the near future.
The Office of the Deputy Governor provides technical and administrative support services to enable the Deputy Governor to assist the Governor in the exercise of his functions in matters of governance, national security, public safety and court administration.
