The public is asked to note that the Virgin Islands Festivals and Fairs Committee has extended its deadline to Friday, April 12 for the submission of entries for the BVI Emancipation Festival’s 2019 theme and slogan competitions.

The public is asked to note that the theme must focus on the historical and/or cultural heritage of the Virgin Islands and the slogan must include the words “Festival 2019” as well as the “65th Emancipation Celebration”.

Entries must be submitted to the Department of Culture located on the Road Town Festival Grounds or via email to mec@gov.vg on or before Friday, April 12. Winners of the theme and slogan will receive a cash prize of $250.00 each.  For more information, please contact the Department of Culture at 468-4379/4949.
