The Department of Disaster Management (DDM) is inviting consultants to submit Expressions of Interest for the provision of consultancy services for the development of a Sustainable Management Plan for Mangroves in the British Virgin Islands.
The plan must also include implementation of Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) and Climate Change Adaptation (CCA) interventions.
Director at the DDM, Ms. Sharlene DaBreo, MBE said the objective of the consultancy is to address post-disaster mangrove restoration and the sustainable management for three affected communities in the British Virgin Islands; namely, Jost Van Dyke, and Sea Cow’s Bay and East End/Long Look on Tortola. The duration of the assignment is expected to be a period of three months.”
Ms. DaBreo added that interested consultants should provide information on their qualifications and experience and ability to carry out the assignment. She added that consultants are eligible to participate if they are citizens or bona fide residents of an eligible country which are member states of the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB).
Electronic copies of the Expressions of Interest must be emailed to bviddm@surfbvi.com and copied to CDB at procurement@caribank.org no later than 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 14, 2019. The email submission must include the name and address of the applicant and the subject line shall be clearly marked “Expression of Interest – Consultancy Services for the Development of a Sustainable Management Plan for Mangroves in the British Virgin Islands.” Interested persons can contact the Department of Disaster Management at telephone number 1284-468-4200 for more information.
