Residents of Locality 3 which includes the area between Paraquita Bay and Baugher’s Bay are informed that the vector control team will be conducting house to house inspections in preparation for a community clean up that will take place on Saturday, March 12.  

On Sunday, March 13 and Monday, March 14, large bins will be strategically placed throughout the community for the disposal of any bulky waste including fridges, stoves, furniture, tires and containers. The bins will be stationed in the following locations:

  • A 20 yard bin will be located in Johnson Ghut next to the residential dumpster adjacent to the old Island Department Store.
  • A 30 yard bin will be placed in Baugher’s Bay in the area of Speed Clean before turning the corner; the bin will be placed next to the mango trees.
  • A 20 yard bin will be positioned next to the Department of Waste Management’s double bins leading to Free Bottom.
  • A 20 yard bin will be situated in the Brandywine Bay area in the vicinity of Mackimbo’s Trucking premises.

A collection service will be offered for individuals who live off the main road between the locations of Purcell Estate and Brandywine Bay. Persons are asked to place their bulky waste items in visible areas from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The Department of Waste Management will have a team equipped with 3-yard trucks to take the items to the incinerator.
