Minister for Health and Social Development, Honourable Carvin Malone entertained a courtesy visit by Senior Advisor for Health Emergencies, Dr. Dana Van Alphen along with Mr. Atiba Clarke, both from the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) on February 21.

During the meeting, BVI Officials were briefed on the Emergency Shelter Repair Project that will improve resiliency to provide better protection for people who seek shelter from storms and other hazards in the future.

Officials who were also in attendance were Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Health and Social Development, Ms. Petrona Davies, Deputy Secretary for the Office of the Premier, Mrs. Elvia Smith-Maduro, PAHO consultant and liaison Mr. Ronnie Lettsome, and Department of Disaster Management Community Relations officer, Mr.  Cecil Jeffrey.
