The Office of the Supervisor of Elections is seeking to add to its pool of prospective elections officers and is inviting interested persons to submit applications for consideration.
Supervisor of Elections, Ms. Scherrie Griffin said persons must be a registered voter and remain politically impartial to be eligible. Ms. Griffin also noted that interested persons should have a courteous disposition, be able to work long hours, and be available for training. Additionally, persons should be able to read, write and speak the English Language. However, individuals who are fluent in Spanish would be an asset.
Those selected will be required to attend mandatory training sessions and will be contacted by telephone and/or email when sessions are scheduled. Elections Officers will be selected for official duty based on their availability, level of proficiency utilising electronic voting equipment, knowledge/skills of the respective duties of the desired post or post assigned, ability to deal with the public in a courteous, patient and efficient manner, and the number of elections officers needed for the election exercise.
To apply, interested persons can complete an application available electronically at bit.ly/bvielectionsofficer and at the Office of the Supervisor of Elections located in the Creque Building at 216 Upper Main Street. Persons can also submit an application in person or via email at electionsvi@gov.vg. The deadline to submit an application is September 15, 2022.
