Junior Minister for Tourism Honourable Sharie De Castro recently participated in the first ever Virtual Commonwealth Youth Parliament which saw the participation of around 50 youth parliamentarians from around the Commonwealth.

The Virgin Islands Youth Parliament (VIYP) now has its full cohort of members following the administering of the Oath of Affirmation to three youth parliamentarians who were absent at the official launch in October.

Speaker of the House of Assembly Honourable Julian Willock has said that under the revised structure of the Virgin Islands Youth Parliament (VIYP), its members will have an opportunity to understand in theory and practice the important principles of governance.

The Virgin Islands Youth Parliament (VIYP) will be re-launched on Tuesday, October 20 and re-assigned under the ambit of the House of Assembly in keeping with the Commonwealth Parliament best practices.

Nominees for the Virgin Islands Youth Parliament participated in their second training session on June 2.

The first of three sessions to train Virgin Islands Youth Parliament nominees on all aspects of House of Assembly proceedings was held on Tuesday, March 10.

The Virgin Islands Youth Parliament (VIYP) will be re launched on March 30 and re-assigned under the ambit of the House of Assembly, in keeping with the Commonwealth Parliament best practices.

The House of Assembly (HoA) of the Virgin Islands was invited by the Speaker of the House of Representatives of Trinidad and Tobago, Honourable (Hon.) Bridgid Mary Annisette-George, to observe its 17th National Youth Parliament.
