A book that offers an exclusive glimpse into the Virgin Islands’ triumph, struggles, resilience and exploration will be launched tomorrow, June 20.

“I am very proud of the exceptional performance by the BVI National Culinary Team during the Taste of the Caribbean.” Those are the words of the Premier of the Virgin Islands, Dr. the Honourable D. Orlando Smith, OBE in congratulating the BVI Culinary Team on their “BIG WIN”.  

Twenty-seven persons from the public and private sectors are now better equipped to deliver exceptional customer service in the Virgin Islands.

The seasonal floating weed, known as Sargassum Seaweed has returned and has increased in indefinite amounts.

Ferry services at the Saint Thomas Bay Jetty in Virgin Gorda will be temporarily handled at the Virgin Gorda Yacht Harbour from May 1.

I thank you for being here this afternoon. Today, I wish to speak on a few areas in Tourism development. 

The British Virgin Islands tourism sector continues a pattern of growth, as indicated by an increase in overnight visitor arrivals during 2016.

The Brandywine Bay Project advances as the Government of the Virgin Islands continues to develop and expand additional destinations for residents and visitors. 

Minister for Communications and Works, Honourable Mark Vanterpool, is featured as he presented a plaque to Captain Kim Larson of the Norwegian Jade on the cruise ship’s inaugural call to the Territory on Thursday, January 19.

The Government of the Virgin Islands has said that tourism continues to be the single most important economic activity in the Territory and measures will be taken to build and sustain the sector.
