BVI Tourist Board Hosts Customs and Immigration Education Event for Puerto Rican Residents

With the upcoming Poker Run on May 27, and Christmas in July on July 22, The BVI Tourist Board continues to enhance the welcoming experience extended to visitors from Puerto Rico, at its various ports of entry.  On May 9, boaters in Puerto Rico attended a very informative presentation by Her Majesty’s Customs, and the Immigration Departments of the BVI.  The “Customs and Immigration Procedures Presentation” in Puerto Rico, provided pertinent information to 150 Puerto Rican private pleasure boaters.

 

The British Virgin Islands Embraced at the Miami Open

Who says you can’t take sand to the beach? The 2018 Miami Open, embraced the BVI Tourist Board when they took the territory to Miami.  A sequel to its first prominent participation last year, the BVI was the exclusive Caribbean destination sponsor at this prestigious event held in Key Biscayne, Florida which took place on March 19 – April 1. The BVI sponsored the daily weather forecast in Key Biscayne.  Prior to each match, the weather forecast was posted on the Miami Open’s Instagram story.  Additionally, patrons were able to sip the world’s famous BVI Painkiller while shaded under branded umbrellas with their toes in the warm sand at the BVI Beach Bar.

BVI Cuisine Promoted at London’s Rum Kitchen

The British Virgin Islands hosted a week-long celebration dedicated to the splendors of BVI cuisine at The Rum Kitchen from March 17 to 23.  The Rum Kitchen, is a popular Caribbean restaurant located at All Saints Road in London, United Kingdom. The British Virgin Islands Tourist Board UK team were excited to welcome Londoners to experience a menu of traditional dishes that surprised and delighted guests with each soulful bite. All dishes were prepared by popular BVI cook, Mrs. Cynthia George of The Sugar Apple Restaurant, Virgin Gorda, who visited London for the event. Guests were greeted warmly with rum punches, Pusser’s Rum Painkillers and the famous, personable BVI hospitality during the week.

Seeds Of Love Spread Throughout The British Virgin Islands

Unfortunate events present opportunities for growth.  The outpouring of love the Territory received after Hurricanes Irma and Maria yielded new seeds – Seeds of Love.  The British Virgin Islands Tourist Board (BVITB) is spreading love in the BVI through its global “Seeds of Love” initiative. The campaign aims at replanting the islands’ indigenous trees and vegetation destroyed by Hurricanes Irma and Maria whilst preventing erosion and protecting the ecosystem, the very thing that makes the tourism product unique.  Environmental preservation is vital to ensuring that the destination lives up to the environmental image of unspoiled landscapes that resound with the tag line, “Nature’s Little Secrets”.
