The Inland Revenue Department, the agency responsible to the Government of the Virgin Islands for the collection of taxes, is urging taxpayers to remain compliant with the tax schedule.
The Government of the Virgin Islands is announcing that the Hotel Accommodation Tax will increase from seven to 10 percent, effective February 1, 2017.

Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda, Honourable Gaston Browne paid a courtesy visit on Premier, Dr. the Honourable D. Orlando Smith, OBE during his visit to the Territory this week. The Prime Minister was attending the regional conference on current development in International Taxation and the Impact on Caribbean Jurisdiction.

The British Virgin Islands (BVI) is hosting a regional conference on the “Current Developments in International Taxation and the Impact on Caribbean Jurisdictions” on 13 December, 2016.
The Government of the British Virgin Islands is currently assessing the details of the European Commission’s pre-assessment work that was published today on the forthcoming list of non-cooperative tax jurisdictions.
Property owners in the Virgin Islands are being notified that in accordance with the Property Tax Ordinance, Cap 207 (as amended), the 2016 property tax is due and payable on September 1.
Property owners in the Virgin Islands are reminded that in accordance with Section 3(a) of the Property Tax Act (2005), Property Tax on Land will be charged on a per parcel basis for the year 2016.
