The Ministry of Health and Social Development is confirming three more COVID related deaths bringing the total number of deaths in the Virgin Islands to 17.

The Ministry of Health and Social Development is confirming five more COVID related deaths over the last two days bringing the total number of deaths in the Virgin Islands to 14.
The public is advised that the Dr. D. Orlando Smith Hospital is the only facility authorised and recognised by the Ministry of Health and Social Development to conduct PCR testing and antigen testing in the Virgin Islands at this time.
Mister Speaker, on 2nd October, 2009, the Government of the Virgin Islands signed a loan agreement for $45 million with Banco Popular for the construction of the New Peebles Hospital Project.
The public is notified that effective immediately, the BVI Health Services Authority is prohibiting visitation to patients except under special circumstances until further notice.
The public is notified that traffic will be interrupted in the vicinity of the Major Peebles Wing of the D Orlando Smith Hospital as a result of construction works.
Chief Operations Officer at the BVI Health Services Authority’s Mrs. Cedorene Malone-Smith has said that more amendments have been made to their visitation policy which will allow for more visitors and longer visitation periods to warded patients.
